You describe a build in a sentence. builderG asks a handful of questions to pin down the things that change the answer — dimensions, ground conditions, finish — and then produces a materials list, matches each material to a real product with a price, works out what it will cost, and can write a step-by-step build guide. How it works walks through it, and the examples are complete finished builds you can explore without signing up.

No — you can start a build and answer the interview as a guest. You need a free account to generate the materials list and everything that follows, because those results are saved to you. Signing up from a guest session keeps the conversation you have already had.

Something specific. “A 4m x 3m raised deck with a balustrade” gives builderG far more to work with than “do the garden”. Dimensions, the surface you are building on, and what it is for are the three that matter most. If you do not know yet, say so — the interview will ask.

Good, not perfect, and it should be checked. We test matching against a labelled set of real materials and track how often the right product is offered. It can still get a quantity wrong, misread an assumption about your site, or suggest a product that does not meet the spec. Treat it as a well-informed first draft, not a cutting list.

No. Prices and availability come from a catalogue we refresh periodically, so they can drift — always check the retailer’s own page before buying. The link on each product takes you there.

Use it to plan and price, but not as sign-off. builderG is not a structural engineer, electrician or Gas Safe engineer, and it does not know your building regulations. For anything structural, electrical, gas, at height, or needing approval, get a qualified professional involved. The build guide flags steps that typically need one.

Tell it in the conversation — “the fall should be away from the house”, “use 6x2 joists” — and regenerate. You can also remove a material from the list directly. If it is a matching mistake rather than a misunderstanding, please report it; those reports are what we tune against.

From a catalogue of real retailer products with prices, descriptions and links. builderG searches it for each material and a model picks the closest fits, explaining what it matched on.

Large retailers list marketplace sellers alongside their own stock. builderG prefers the retailer’s own products where it can, and names the seller when it is a third party. It matters for delivery, returns and whether stock is reliable — in some categories the retailer carries very little of its own range.

Where more than one catalogue is loaded, you can choose. Today B&Q is the main one.

It is a credit, not a subscription. Buying one gives you a credit; the first time you do something on a build that needs it, the credit attaches to that build and unlocks everything on it for 30 days. An unused credit lasts 12 months. You can hold several, and a pass build does not use up your free builds.

Everything you already made stays yours to view and download — materials lists, products, costs, guides, visuals and PDFs. What stops is generating new versions.

Any time, from your profile. Access runs to the end of the period you have paid for. A free trial that you cancel before it ends costs you nothing.

An impression of the finished result, drawn from your materials and dimensions — or a before-and-after if you upload a photo of the space. It is checked against your spec and regenerated if it misses, but it is an illustration, not a drawing to build from.

Not entirely, and this is worth knowing: generated images and uploaded photos are stored at long, unguessable links that are not behind your login. We never publish them, but anyone with the exact link could view it. Avoid uploading photos with faces, documents or anything you would not want seen, and ask us if you want one deleted. The privacy policy spells this out.

Phases and steps with instructions, rough timings, difficulty, what to check before moving on, safety notes, and which steps usually need a professional. Steps link back to the materials they use, and you can tick them off as you go.

Find tradespeople lets you search by trade and region, and a build guide suggests the trades your project is likely to need.

No. Listings are self-declared and free. We do not check qualifications, insurance or reviews, and we do not endorse anyone. Ask for certification and insurance yourself, as you would with any trade found online.

List your business. It is free. Only the first part of your postcode is shown publicly, and you can hide or delete the listing at any time.

Only you. Access is enforced in the database, not just the app. Your build text is sent to our AI provider to generate results, under contract and not for their own purposes.

Deleting a build removes its conversation, materials lists, products, guide and visuals. To delete your account entirely, email support@terredyme.com. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Yes — it installs to your home screen and works like an app. There is an “Install the app” option in the menu, with instructions for your browser.
